1. Who we are

EditLabs ("EditLabs", "we", "us") provides a short-form video editing platform at editlabs.dev. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Questions? Email support@editlabs.dev.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, role (creator, editor, admin), password hash and sign-in metadata.
  • Project content: raw footage, additional assets, reference links, editing instructions, notes, delivered edits and revision history you upload or generate.
  • Usage data: credit balance and consumption, project statuses, timestamps, notification and email delivery events.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and device information captured in server and security logs.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16, and we do not sell personal data or use it for advertising profiling.

3. Why we use it

  • To operate your account and deliver the editing service you requested (contract).
  • To assign projects to editors and notify you about deliveries, revisions and approvals (contract).
  • To keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and debug issues (legitimate interests).
  • To meet accounting, tax and legal obligations (legal obligation).

4. Processors we rely on

We use a small set of vendors strictly to run the service: cloud hosting and application delivery, a managed database, authentication and file storage, and a transactional email provider used to send workflow notifications from notify.editlabs.dev. These providers process data only on our instructions and under contract.

5. Sharing

Your uploaded footage and instructions are visible to the editor assigned to your project and to EditLabs administrators performing quality review. We do not share your content with anyone else unless you ask us to, or unless we are legally required to.

6. Retention

Project files and messages are kept for as long as your account is active so you can revisit past deliveries. Archived or deleted accounts have their access revoked immediately; associated files are removed on request and otherwise within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, export or restriction of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Send requests to support@editlabs.dev and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

Access is protected by authenticated accounts and row-level database rules so users only see their own projects. Preview videos carry a burned-in watermark until you approve the final cut. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

10. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will also be announced by email to account holders.
